A past-season source of ideas
The source article considered patterns, colours and material ideas for spring 2025. That season has passed; the content is preserved as a retrospective and should not be presented as a current trend forecast.
Pattern direction can still be a starting point for new work. Translate an inspiration image into a brief covering repeat size, colour references, fabric construction, base shade and intended garment.
Test artwork on the intended fabric
The same design can look different depending on the knit structure, surface, base colour and printing process. Approve a sample on the planned fabric and review colour, scale, alignment, hand and dimensions after finishing.
Do not assume a colour or print process is available for every construction. Confirm feasibility and acceptance criteria with the production team.
Use references carefully
Trend names, palette references and images are inspiration, not a guarantee of commercial performance or an exact colour match. Approve physical samples and current specifications before making a product decision.
Discuss a new-season fabric brief with the team.
