Two different material routes
Organic cotton concerns how the cotton fibre is grown and documented; recycled cotton concerns the use of recovered cotton fibre. Neither label alone describes the whole environmental impact or guarantees a particular fabric performance.
For a purchasing decision, check the exact fibre content, source and chain-of-custody documents, any applicable certification and the product's technical specification. Confirm that documentation covers the fabric being ordered.
Compare the fabric, not only the raw material
A recycled or organic fibre still needs to work in the intended construction and garment. Assess strength, hand, surface, weight, width, colour, shrinkage, sewing behaviour and consistency against a representative sample.
Recycled fibre blends may differ in staple length and appearance. The yarn and knitting construction influence the final result, so request a sample and test garment before approving a larger run.
Communicate sustainability claims precisely
This English version is a review draft. The Polish source makes broad environmental comparisons that need product-specific evidence. Do not state that one option is categorically more sustainable without defining the boundary, method and supporting data. Keep certificates and supplier documents with the approved product specification.
